SPRING '10 MEETING The Spring Meeting was a huge success. We had almost 60 registered participants of members and non members and we had a number of walk ins. We had wonderful Vendor support with over 27 Vendors exhibiting. The day started with a welcome by Carol La Penta our President Elect followed by Eva Liljendahl; CPCC. Eva got the crowd up and moving with a very exciting presentation on “Hands on tips for becoming a Successful Speaker”. It was interesting to see the interaction of everyone. Then we had a very educational session from Dr. Aguanno, Ph.D.; Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics, on “Procalcitonin”. This is a new marker that will help the clinicians diagnose and treat Sepsis. This assay is a long needed test to help them treat this critical disease state. Ruth Nelson and Jamie Fields from CLMA National then addressed the group and explained new layout of the offices now here in Chicago. She discussed the new leadership and how that would positively affect the members. We closed with a very interesting session from Georgene Cooke; from CAP, on Clarification around a Quality Management System. Again thanks to all of our Members and Non Members that attended. Also thanks to the great support of our Vendors. Without support like this we would not be able to host these very important educational sessions.
