SPRING '10 MEETING The Chicago Chapter of CLMA held their annual Spring Education Meeting at the Burr Ridge Marriott on May 13, 2009. This year’s theme was “Upgrading Your Executive Skills”. The 50+ attendees enjoyed presentations by Rod Forsman, “Notes on Laboratory Management from All Over” and Eva Lilljendahl, “Leaders- Tap Your Flow in Writing and Write what you Really Mean to Say”. Rod relayed leadership skills and traits from famous leaders and people he has met through his travels. Eva led us on a journey to tap into our writing skills. The sponsors of the meeting, Sysmex, Biosite Mayo Medical Laboratories and Aerotek were acknowledged by Marilyn Nelson. She also gave details about the Chapter’s recognition by National CLMA recently announced at the Annual Meeting: 2008 Chapter of the Year Distinction in Education Chapter Member of the Year – David Di Giovanni Our Chapter is also privileged to have Corrine Cagney elected as Chair of the Council of Chapter Leaders. The half-day meeting was information packed and allowed members and non-members to network and share experiences.
